The district court is our local community court, which is why it’s crucial to elect judges who really understand our community. Ryan Deel has proven his dedication and commitment to our community through his decade of service to our community. He was appointed to the Rochester Hills Public Library Board in 2014 and was elected to serve a full term in 2015. He was elected as the city council member for District 4 in 2017 and re-elected in 2021. He was unanimously elected by his city council colleagues as city council president in December 2019 and has been unanimously re-elected each year since. Ryan has also served on the board for the Rochester Area Recreation Authority (RARA), the Rochester Hills Brownfield Redevelopment Authority, Liquor License Technical Review Committee, and the Sister City Committee with Rochester. He is also the city council liaison to the Rochester Hills Youth Government Council.
Closer to home, Ryan serves on the Arcadia Park Homeowners Association Board. He is a member of the Friends of the Rochester Hills Library, the Oakland County Bar Association and the Rochester Rotary Club.
Ryan is a graduate of Michigan State University and Wayne State University Law School. Since 2006, he has served as the judicial staff attorney to Chief Judge Linda Hallmark of the Oakland County Probate Court. He has been an author and lecturer for the Institute of Continuing Legal Education and the Oakland County Bar Association.
Ryan’s wife, Melinda, is also an attorney practicing in Rochester Hills. Like Ryan, she is active in the community, serving as the immediate past president of the Oakland County Bar Association and the president of the Rochester Hills Public Library Board of Trustees.
Ryan and Melinda have lived in Rochester Hills for over 20 years, where their twin sons attend Rochester Community Schools.
