Highlights on the 12/2/2019 City Council Agenda

We have a busy agenda for our 12/2/2019 city council meeting. Here are some of the highlights:

* Recognition of Dr. Robert Shaner, Michigan’s Superintendent of the Year;
* Recognition of Mayor Bryan K. Barnett as the 77th President of the United States Conference of Mayors;
* 2019 Year-End Legislative Update;
* Public Hearings for the Draft Special Assessment Roll for Bolinger Street and MichaelsonRoad;
* First reading on an ordinance to modify the start time for commercial and industrial trash collection from 6 am to 7am;
* Second Reading and adoption for: Ordinances regarding fees; an ordinance to establish an inspection frequency schedule of 1, 2, 3 years for various classifications of buildings in the city; New Brooklands District Zoning and Sign Ordinance amendments and an ordinance to amend the zoning ordinance to include R-5 residential;
* Nomination and appointments to various citizen boards and commissions;
* Election of City Council President and Vice-President;
* Council appointments to boards, commissions, and technical review committees;
* Increase to the contract/blanket purchase order for fire suppression and fire alarm plan review and inspection services in the amount of $30,000.00 for a new not-to-exceed amount of $255,000;
* Blanket Purchase Order/Contract for 2020 Street Tree Planting in the amount not-to-exceed $165,000;
* Increase to the blanket purchase order for the purchase of 23A Road Gravel in the amount of $22,000.00 for a new not-to-exceed amount of $52,000.00 through December 31, 2020; and
